Steady hands for West Maui's future.
Nearly eight years of steady leadership for West Maui and an integral part of leading Lahaina's recovery and rebuild.
Re-elect Tamara Paltin
for Maui County Council.
why re-elect
tamara?
Tamara Paltin has represented West Maui on the County Council since 2019, leading through the COVID-19 pandemic and the August 2023 wildfires. Tamara is running for a fifth term because West Maui's recovery is far from finished, and she believes continuity matters now more than ever. She's chaired the county's disaster recovery efforts since the Lahaina wildfires and knows the recovery, its funding, its partners, its setbacks, in a way that cannot be handed off mid-rebuild.
A former county emergency medical responder and lifeguard, she also led nonprofit organizations including Save Honolua Coalition and West Maui Preservation Association before entering office.
As Chair of the Disaster Recovery, International Affairs, and Planning Committee, her top priority is Lahaina's recovery, from securing stable housing to partnering with federal agencies on debris removal and water restoration. She created the insurance gap program to help residents cover the difference between insurance payouts and rebuilding costs, and has pushed for property tax relief, gap-financing, and short-term rental regulation to keep working families on Maui.
With critical decisions still ahead on housing, infrastructure, and how Lahaina rebuilds, she's asking voters for the chance to see this work through to completion.

I am a wife and mother of two, an aloha ‘Āina born and raised in Hawai’i. I am familiar with county systems and processes, enjoy seeing the big picture of how things work and scrutinizing the details.
